"hottest" US Senator?
(from here) A Web poll is out to determine which senator is the majority leader in the looks department. So far, the candidates are narrowed down to Robert Byrd of West Virginia, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Evan Bayh of Indiana and Joe Biden of Delaware.

Barack Obama of Illinois was left off the ballot because his "extreme hotness" would be an unfair advantage. Michigan's Carl Levin didn't do too shabbily. He got at least one write-in vote, plus the endorsement of irreverent Beltway blogger Wonkette.

And the DLC needs to split off entirely and go its seperate way. No more of this corruption, and I say end it once and for all this time.

I say the neo-left McGovernite fringe needs to split off. Yeah.

So, making sure (if you really had that power) that no one in the DLC won "hottest Senator" would end corruption "once and for all this time?"

47. Hmm?
Who said anything about hottest senator?

I was referring just to the DLC entirely as a whole, not anything about being "the hottest senator". The reason DLC isn't already a seperate party or on the other side, is because they're eisenhower republicans. I see no reason to donate any credability to the corporate.

On the other hand...

The DNC, or http://www.democrats.org might just be able to reshape this entire party and uproot it from its corrupt influences. If the people have anything to say! :yourock:

Me. The title and point of this thread. Did you read it?

heh! That's a new one! But entirely wrong.

Here's a hint: George McGovern didn't form the Democratic party in 1972.

The DLC consists consists of the remnants of New Deal (FDR)Democrats who advocate fiscal responsibilty and a strong national defense, and former New Lefties (McGovernites) who either grew tired of the largely ineffective tactics of the New Left or who began to question the more extreme aspects of the New Left agenda. Dolstein

If DU were around in the 30s through the 40s, with the same mindset many here have, we would see calls to vote Wallace over Truman, etc.

Yeah, I guess Sen. Byrd is hot, if your around the same age as him, though I have to admit that he isn't ugly for an old geezer. But I'm not into men who are 65 years older than I am. I guess the grannys and those who have a thing for old geezers must have taken over the poll. That is my only explanation for Robert Byrd being considered HOT!.:wtf:

In terms of people and/or organizations I would like to have parade around Naked, I can safely say that the United States Senate is pretty far down the list.

I'm still trying -HARD- to get the image of the Supreme Court nude from Jon Stewart's book out of my head.

"objectification".

Ohhh, Noooo! :o :o :o Quick, clutch your crinoline doily to your chest.

I wondered how long it would take the PC police to come out on this one.

Sorry, some Senators are objects. For example, the twenty (or however many it is, now, after the public shaming) Senators who avoided voting for the anti-lynching apology legislation are flaming turds, in my opinion.

I guess a flaming turd is an object.

In case you hadn't noticed, the Senate trivializes itself, every day. The occasional thread talking about how Senators look (and most of them are MEN, too :o) doesn't have jack-diddly-squat to do with that. Maybe it should be in the lounge, but I hardly think it's worth getting pissed off about.

I would say, if you don't like the thread, there are plenty others to choose from, but that's not nearly as much fun as playing censor- so, by all means- let us keep ALL discussion away from "shallowness and objectification."

Pfffft.

Since when, in a democratic society, do we remove the person who would obviously clobber the rest of the pack?

By this logic, they never should have let FDR stand for re-election. He's just too awesome, and it's unfair for the other candidates.

Russ Feingold is probably the best looking senator.

As a straight male I think most of the women are pretty unattractive , and that inlcudes Mary Landrieu. Barbara Boxer is actually decent looking, considering her age. Nancy Pelosi has had WAY too much plastic surgery.
