Maryland DU'ers: Protest Bush in Silver Spring THURSDAY

What

President George W. Bush is coming to Blair High School in Silver Spring tomorrow, Thursday, June 23, at 9 a.m. to hold a phony "Town Hall Meeting" to push his right-wing plan to privatize Social Security. Let's show W. what Marylanders think of him and his plan! Progressive Maryland and allies will meet across the street from the high school at the Woodmoor Shopping Center in Silver Spring (southeast corner of Colesville Rd. and University Blvd) at 8:30 a.m. From that staging ground we will go to the spot designated for protesting. Drivers can drop off passengers in the Woodmoor shopping center parking lot then find parking in the surrounding commercial district (the high school parking lot will probably be closed off).

Woodmoor Shopping Center at intersection of University Blvd. and Colesville Rd. in Silver Spring

Directions: mapquest this intersection in Silver Spring. It is a 1 minute drive from either the University Blvd. exit or Colesville Rd exit off the Beltway. Traffic is of course terrible in the morning, so build in extra drive time. It is about 1.5 miles from the Silver Spring metro (limited number of cabs at the metro stop, so don't count on getting a cab from the metro).
