Jon Stewart to have Governor Dean on The Daily Show -Monday night!!!
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 12:30 PM by seventhson
I haven't seen this posted yet.

Just caught Steve Colbert of The Daily Show on CNN's Reliable Sources with Howard Kurtz. Very funny.

It is clear that The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is HUGELY influential on the 18-50 demographic. I am 49 and a devoted watcher with my teenage daughter, wife and 20 year old sister in law. It is the BEST and most critical and insightful news show on television.

Anyway, Howard Kurtz said, "I guess I can announce that Howard Dean is Jon Stewart's Guest on Monday night's Daily Show."

I think this is incredibly significant.

After watching the Dean interview with Peter Jennings yesterday I believe that Dean is BEST one on one. He is serious and for real and funny.

This is a coup for Dean as well as for Jon Stewart, whom Colbert and Kurtz joked was a King-maker.

I will second that opinion.

Jon Stewart is the best and this guest at this time seems like a ringing endorsement of Dean, the night before the primaries in New Hampshire/

I think that is just GREAT!!!

3 Cheers for Jon Stewart!!!

2. I agree...this is huge.
And maybe, just maybe, after he wins NH, Dean'll let those whores Russert and Stephanopolous kiss his ass.

5. We should get Jon Stewart to moderate our debates
Why do we bother with these old washed-up second rate actors, like Peter Jenigs and Ted Cophell when we have entertaining, funny, engaging actors like Jon Stewart?

Stewart would do a much better job - plus we'd have better ratings.

7. If this happens this will be great!
I like the Daily Show a lot. Somtetimes fake newsshows have more truth than so-called real newsshows.

9. Howard Dean on Jon Stewart's show is so exciting
We watch Stewart every night, and sometimes watch the re-run the next day, just to make sure we didn't miss anything. No wonder he has been receiving awards for his show. He really knows how to give the "news."

:toast: :wow: ;)

I often tape it. It is the funniest thing EVER on Television.

It reruns the next day I think at 10 am and 7 pm and then uusually he reruns good shows when he's on vacation.

But Monday will be very special.

Dean is not the first candidate to appear on the show (he's following Sharpton, Edwards twice, and Lieberman)--and Stewart hasn't been exactly awestruck toward Dean.

He's called him thick necked, etc.

I think he's giving Dean some fair time but I hardly think of this as a "ringing endorsement". This is certainly convenient and positive for Dean though... depending on how many Daily Show watchers a)live in NH and b)are going to vote in the primary.

13. Jon has also been very friendly with Kucinich...
...but says there's more chance of monkeys flying out his butt. TDS makes fun of everyone and everything. I'm not looking for an endorsement, just a good appearance.

17. I don't think anyone views this as an
endorsement really, more like a good opportunity to talk to a huge demographic. I'll bet Jon and the Gov will have a lot of fun. Dean's not afraid to poke a little fun of himself, something the simain is incapable of.

14. I love the Daily Show.
My kids turned me onto this show a few months back. I don't think I have ever laughed harder than to see some of their skits on the debates. CMB and Clark have been on recently. They make great fun of Kerry with his lack of expression and enthusiasm. I wish it was on earlier, I catch the 7:00PM repeat show.

16. This'll be cool, everybody should watch!
Jon will bat him about a bit, but it'll be pretty amiable on the whole. Good on Dean to go on the show. :)
