I was stunned......
After the 2000 election, i was stunned. After 9/11 i was stunned. After we bombed Afghanistan i was stunned. After we invaded Iraq i was stunned. After the 2004 election i was stunned. There were a few more lesser days of incredulity, but the bar has been raised pretty high to stun me anymore. Now I'm afraid. And disgusted. And afraid.
i feel like i'm watching somebody beat the sh*t out of my mother. And i'm just melting into the corner holding my breath, waiting for next. Nothing i can say or do. If you open your mouth you get it worse.

7. Thank You....very helpful.....
knowing you're not alone, is half the battle. This funk was brought on by yesterday's reading material. Before sleep, i read more of Michael Ruppert's 'Crossing the Rubicon', and happened upon this paragraph concerning insider trading vis-a-vis 9/11.
"Indeed, no one could hope to get away with it unless they controlled all the enforcement mechanisms that would be called in afterward.
This expansion of the SEC probe was later confirmed by the San Francisco Chronicle, which reported that the SEC's action in establishing "relationships" with private brokerage houses "effectively deputizes hundreds, if not thousands, of key players in the private sector. What happens when you deputize someone in a national security or criminal investigation is that you make it illegal for them to disclose publicly what they know. Smart move. In effect, they become government agents and are controlled by government regulations rather than their own conscience. In fact, they can be thrown in jail without a hearing if they talk publicly. I have seen this implied threat time and again with federal investigators, intelligence agents, and even members of the United States Congress who are bound so tightly by secrecy oaths and agreements that they are not even able to disclose criminal activities inside the government for fear of incarceration. Even members of Congress fear that kind of retaliation and punishment. That restraint is much worse for members of congressional intelligence committees who sign even more draconian secrecy agreements in order to get their assignments....That and these two posts set me up.....

4. The whole country feels that way - W's poor leadership
I have read numerous polls/articles in the last week saying our country is in a "funk" or "bad mood" or headed in the wrong direction.

Bush is pushing an agenda of a minor faction and speaking only to his supporters. His war is not going well, our economy is NOT strong, and we are developing a larger low income population. Our basic needs will soon be out of the reach of a large segment of our population and he encourages aliens to come and improve their lot. He and his agenda has been a national tragedy.

8. I think this malaise or funk is driving retail sales...
I swear everytime I think things are getting worse, it seems the stores are more crowded....America is acquiring a form of universal shopaholics disease. Half these people are brain dead already, and shopping just dulls the pain a bit.
