Governor Signs Three Elections Bills
ALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush has signed three elections bills, but he's reviewing another measure that would eliminate the runoff primary election.
The governor has until June 29 to decide on the runoff bill that historically has catapulted some of the state's most renowned politicians into office.
"Florida continues to lead the nation in election reform," Bush said. "The legislation I sign today helps to ensure Floridians have fair and accurate elections."
The bills sign Monday would raise a spending cap for gubernatorial candidates to $20 million and limit early voting to eight hours on weekdays and weekends over a 15-day period before Election Day.
