Another Great Daily Show, but for all those new to TDS (6 months or Less)

Let me make this clear about the RW Loon that Jon has as a Guest tonight, Jon is in his sly way, ridiculing this guys ridiculous Book. Jon is so good at this, that the guy hasn't got a clue.

This is NOT Jon "Drinking the Kool-Aid again." This is one of those "Iran is the Real threat" authors, starting to see a Propaganda campaign yet?

What was probably the second bit, TDS did a great "Point out the absurd" of (I think it was Sensenbrenner) took his gavel and when home, after cutting off all the witnesses he disagreed with.

Then, Jon (Who is Jewish) did a great segment on why we shouldn't compare people to Hitler, Taking Robert Bird, Rick Santorum, Fidel Castro and even Phil Spector to task about it.

Google "Kenneth Timmerman" and you'll find all sorts of freepish stuff -- he ran for the Senate (Repub, of course), wrote books about how evil the French and the Russians are (as well as the Iranians), and is a big favorite of Newsmax and FreakRepublic. Jon was teasing him and he didn't seem to get it -- loved it when Timmerman was blathering on about how much the Iranian people really love America, and Jon snarkily mentioned all the flag-burning. So Timmerman, apparentlty not realizing he was being dissed, just says, quite seriously, "Oh, that's all staged by the mullahs."

10. How Can Anyone Believe That Line About Iran Now?

Iran has nukes. Iran planned 911 with Saddam. Iran is planning to attack the US.

And yet tonight, Timmmerman did all that with a straight face. There is a complete inability to feel shame or see irony.

I'm beginning to see the DSM as being having much greater importance than shifting the political landscape against Bush. The farther it gets, the more likely it is to prevent another war.

11. Oh, but the first 5 minutes were the best

He showed the clip when Frist announced, on the floor of the Senate that he examined the video of Teri Schiavo and did not see any vegetative state, and then the one from this morning on GMA where he said that he NEVER said that.

And Jon Stewart then wondered whether Frist realized that the cameras of CSPAN are on when he talks in the Senate.

Would be a great material for his next campaign.

times. TDS and Frontline are about the only T.V Shows I always watch. (oh and Reno 911 and Chapelle Show).

Most everything else sucks these days.

The people that write those kinds of books have huge egos, so they think that they are WAY smarter that anyone else,(mainly because they get paid to write total BS, and they ARE a lot smarter that their target audience).

On Edit: What I do is, once you spot the wing nuts, you already know what lies they are going to tell, so I just ignore what they say, and just focus my attention on what Jon is saying, but more important is his non-verbals and the questions he asks. Most of the time they are very subtle jabs, the bigger the ego, the higher the shot count.

It's almost like intellectual boxing.

It lumped perfectly valid comparison made by some, in with wacko out-there references made by the likes of Rick Santorum and Phil Specter. His characterization of Sen. Byrds remarks as trying to draw equivalency between a current issue and the Holocaust were a total fabrication and totally unfunny. And, as you've pointed out, Stewart belittled a key point that Byrd was making about how the Nazis turned a democracy into a dictatorship.
