I kinda like that.. :) That nickname does sort of fit Kerry, doesn't it? Cool, calm, collected and not easily rattled. Not easily excited. Isn't that the nicknme for Phil Jackson, coach of the LA Lakers? Their personalities are similar. Good nickname!

As for calling him a zen master, its politically incorrect, IMO. As a buddhist, i feel it is trivializing something that people "think" they understand, and by using it, don't respect zen, or buddhism... reducing it to triviality.

I'd call him the "iron man" or something more secular to achieve your approach.

Real zen masters i've known are nothing like Mr. Kerry, nor should they be... just the resemblance is less present than your post implies.
