Oh, You Fancy Fascists (love letter to the NYT)
FUCK THE NEW YORK TIMES

You are the elite brand name in "Journalism." Widely accepted as "Liberal," your paper is supposedly seen as the arbiter of truth for the most educated and sophisticated of citizens. BULLSHIT, FUCKERS. You are simply a more subtle cog in the machinery of AMERICAN FASCISM. Your limited hangout of the surface evils of the Bush administration and American History in general diffuse any true spirit of change. Your unwillingness to focus on issues that truly matter to Democracy (try the ENVIRONMENT and 9/11 for starters), make you an instrument of those few who seek to deceive and dominate the many. You have clearly given up on the idea of serving an informed citizenry. You are part of the treasonous, fascistic side of America. Don't worry, you are not alone in this, you can count quite a lot friends actually. But may you remember this line when you try to go to sleep, "Sanity is not statistical."

So as you support the increasingly blatant fascism that our country is
descending into, remember that there still are people who know what REAL JOURNALISM really means. That your legacy is shit, every one of you who works for the company, your supposed status will be nothing unless we complete our journey to a place where 2+2 does not equal 4.

THANKS FOR GIVING EQUAL TIME FOR THE LIES AND FASCISTS--THAT'S TRUE
JOURNALISM!

Here are a couple pointer's on JOURNALISM (OTHERWISE KNOWN AS SPREADING TRUTH):

Seems the "lowly" Philadelphia Daily News wasn't scared to publish a little truth. Now how about you FUCKERS follow up?

See, I'm sure you guys all have your reasons for not publishing this stuff (like, there's a blackout on that story or the CIA told me I couldn't write about that or they'll kill my family or i'll lose my job or my boss won't let it get through). BUT YOU SEE, I DON'T REALLY GIVE A FUCK. RESIGN IN PROTEST, PUBLISH THAT SHIT ANYWAY, START A NEW PAPER WITH SOME OF YOUR FRIENDS WHO ACTUALLY BELIEVE IN MORALITY, JUST FUCKING DO SOMETHING YOU COWARDS!!

2. The Times does lots of good things
There are far worse publications. In fact, most of them are worse.

4. Better than most of the CorpoMedia in America today...
..is NOT a lofty achievement worthy of praise.

I'm faster on my feet than most cripples.
No big deal.

FWIW, I DO agree with you.
There are many small publications that ARE better, but none anywhere NEAR the size of the NYT.

9. good, honest anger is refreshing
hopefully they will start seeing it more and more.

they've sold out, they know it, and they will do anything to keep it quiet. if they don't print it, it won't be known. so they are hoping.

the new york times has become a joke.

10. The Ability Of A Self-Righteous Few...
... to convince themselves that they are the sole reliquaries of a pristine purity and shining truth, therefore justifying for them their endless excoriation of all those who would normally be allies in the fight against the real threat, is seemingly endless in certain precincts of the suicide left.

Good. Let's think of a world with no New York Times, no Washington Post, no Public Broadcasting System, no CBS, no centrist and relatively objective and non-ideological media whatsoever.

How would we be better off?

12. The Irony Is Fox Wouldn't Give A Shit
Unlike us, who are somehow expected to take this nonsense seriously.

Look, if in 2006 and 2008 we lose the perpetually indignant 1% by moving to the center, but in the process pick up 4% of the electorate and put an end to the GOP reign of terror, have we really done a bad thing?

I'm sick of ideological guilt-trips. Both the right and left-wing varieties. And my gut instinct is the country is as well.

13. your system is broken, buddy
i would like to think of a world in which DEMOCRACY actually means something.

the real threat? what, like FASCISM HERE NOW AND NOBODY SAYING SHIT?

you, my friend, need to start challenging some of your assumptions.

those media outlets are garbage. PBS castrated "Now" for telling a little too much truth. ever watch "Democracy Now" or check out fromthewilderness.com?? ever hear of a book called "The New Pearl Harbor"?

revolution or fascism there's no room left for anything else. call me an extremist...i don't care.

THE TRUTH IS NON-IDEOLOGICAL

15. Do we have enough who have quit reading them to make a difference to them
I know when I cancelled my subscription I let them know why. What if everyone who has quit paying for the paper out of disgust let them know, all at once, that they had done so? I mean, just from DU, let's say. So that they could count viewers lost for what reason?

Same thing with CNN and MSNBC, except for KO.

I think it is very obvious that CNN lost viewers because they were following Fox to the right, but not everyone believes that. Maybe I'm wrong. But I think it must be. Have many people stopped watching CNN? What if we were to give them a list?

I won't do it, because I am generally ignored here. But I will suggest it, at least. As it is, they just blame it on the internet, not on their horrendous journalism.

17. fWhat I would like to see
is a petition of ex-readers, or ex-payers, with the reason we hvae become exxes.

Same with CNN. Instead of one here and one there.

I suggest this because when I talk about this with other people, say, some liberals at work, they insist I'm wrong. but these are liberals who are of the DNC frame of mind. It's hard to convince them when I have no evidence except my opinion.

So why would the MSM think otherwise? Unless we can tell them. And it's not that we just mistrust the journalists, it's the owners who run them. Isn't it?
