Filibuster Compromise Implications for 2006
Will the religious right punish the Republicans on Election Day next year? I've been reading certain far-right websites, and they're hoppin' mad, claming that they've been betrayed, that the GOP has no "testicular fortitude," that the GOP isn't getting another dime from 'em, that the GOP has abused the religious right's hard work, that they're sitting at home come midterm elections, and on and on.. You'd've thunk that the GOP got together and killed their mamas or something.

thoughts?

2. "Tantrum" is putting it lightly.
These psychos are doing some heavy soul-searching tonight. Wondering why they're put so much into the GOP when they're supposedly let-down repeatedly.

And I suspect that seeing smilin' Democrats on television for the rest of the week isn't gonna help much either.

If the 3 judges that are getting through and the others are a no decision what did they win? Why don't the 3 judges qualify as an extreme case. If they don't qualify for the fillibuster then who will? You have a fillibuster with no teeth because they won't use it. If they do use it what is to stop these idiot repukes from threatening to get rid of it again?

4. Not to say that I agree with it..
but I predict that the Dems are gonna be on television this week spinning this as something that they can live with. This is going to drive the right wing nuts, even if it is a raw deal for Dems. Since the filibuster is still there (albeit with many fewer teeth), they see this as a failure in their black-and-white world..

5. Probably not. It may be called compromise but Collins wasted no time
ripping into the Dems for being responsible for all the trouble. It's called looking like a moderate and covering you ass at the same time.
