Listening to Lott this morning
All those quotes from Dems during the Clinton years saying that nominees should get an up or down vote. Alright. Fine. So now they see the value of allowing the minority to have ways to stop the majority.

But Lott was pretending that those statements were made in a vacuum. Why did several Dems, like Kennedy for instance, make statements about nominees being allowed the chance to be voted upon. BECAUSE THE REPUBLICANS WERE FILIBUSTERING THEM, THAT'S WHY!

What really got me was when he apologized to the Janice Brown on be half of the American people for the shabby way the Senate was treating her. OH NO, BUDDY. You are NOT apologizing on behalf of ME! How dare you presume to speak for ME.

And if she deserves an apology, then so do about 70 Clinton nominees who were stalled, fillibustered and otherwise blocked. Get started Lott, baby. That should keep you busy for a while.

(hope you guys don't mind a slightly late rant on the morning business -- I needed to get that out.)
