Of these 23 Brainwashing & Mind Control Techniques
11 seem to be in full use as the "Old Truth" (supposedly "liberal" "anti-American" anti-Bush" mainstream media) is being replaced by the "New Truth" (RW media and complicit MSM see #18).

#4 is where or how it began 20+ years ago through the use of #6.

http://www.phinnweb.com/neuro/brainwash/

4) REJECTION OF OLD VALUES - Accelerating acceptance of new lifestyle by constantly denouncing former beliefs and values.

5) CONFUSING DOCTRINE - Encouraging blind acceptance and rejection of logic through complex lectures on an incomprehensible doctrine.

6) METACOMMUNICATION - Implanting subliminal messages by stressing certain key words or phrases in long, confusing lectures.

8) DISINHIBITION - Encouraging child-like obedience by orchestrating child-like behaviour

9) UNCOMPROMISING RULES - Inducing regression and disorientation by soliciting agreement to seemingly simple rules which regulate mealtimes, bathroom breaks and use of medications.

10) VERBAL ABUSE - Desensitizing through bombardment with foul and abusive language. (Physical abuse, such as torture, is the more extreme form of this.)

16) FINGER POINTING - Creating a false sense of righteousness by pointing to the shortcomings of the outside world.

18) CONTROLLED APPROVAL - Maintaining vulnerability and confusion by alternately rewarding and punishing similar actions.

21) NO QUESTIONS - Accomplishing automatic acceptance of beliefs by discouraging questions.

22) GUILT - Reinforcing the need for 'salvation' by exaggerating the sins of the former lifestyles.

23) FEAR - Maintaining loyalty and obedience to the group by threatening soul, life or limb for the slightest 'negative' thought, word or deed.

1. "People need to be very careful about what they say."
Interesting article. And I'm sure it's no accident that they're using these tactics so efficiently.

2. I don't doubt it for a minute
The bushwhackers have used every trick in the book, the use of brainwashing and mind control is only a problem to them if it doesn't work. I had a college psychology course in control and persuasion methods, I will have to check and see if it is still in the curriculum.

I would nominate this thread if I were not so new to this board, everyone ought to know how their critical thinking is being bypassed, especially since it is in the name of fascism.

This is nothing new. They started on this path in the late 60's and early 70's

14. Thank you for the welcome
I like your idea for an article and what you outlined in your post below makes perfect sense.

As has been pointed out in some of the other posts, brainwashing is as old as religion, religion being a form of mind-control in itself. However, I have not seen it as slap-in-the-face blatant as it is now, with the control of the media and outright use of mainstream religion to assemble the susceptible masses.

Mind-control and brainwashing still seem like something that happens only to POWs and cult members, at least to the general population, people just aren't aware enough of the subtleties, they are so used to being spoon-fed by the media, write the article.

Thanks for the welcome too :)

21. Describe the brainwashing timeline you see?
What happened "late 60's and early 70's"?

Reagan definitely cranked it up.

Thanks for posting this.

I'll print this out and add it to my 14 points of fascism sheets I have in my car. People need to wake the hell up! :scared:

5. Yup, and Mix In A Large Dose of FEAR and your well On Your Way
To a fascist state. People are much more susceptible to these techniques when they are in a constant state of fear.

Good article, thanks for drawing my attention to it!

6. In one way or another I have been trying to write up a good correlation
between the two. I (yeah me) was going to write an article on how the RW destruction of the "liberal media" was comparably to the brainwashing techniques of cults showing the "new truth" to potential converts and juxtaposing it with the "old truth" that their parents/society taught them. It is new and exciting especially when the subject is scared and angry and lead to believe that the cause of their troubles is that the "old truth" was based on lies and manipulating them. -gee see why I never finished the article?-

Something along those lines.

11. It's funny...
these things are why I've severed ties between myself and my sister-in-law. She's been totally brainwashed by religious cults and I don't want her influencing my children. My husband still talks to his "little sister" because he's just a wonderful, forgiving man and he refuses to acknowledge the harm she can cause.

Thanks for the link. I recommended it because we all need to be very aware of what is going on and not try to convince ourselves it isn't intentional.

15. what is the difference between brainwashing and advertising?
I suspect not much, at least not the way advertising is done today. Points 4, 5, 6 and 8 seem to fit. It all fits together somehow, the mantra of entitlement, "have it your way!", "your deserve a break...", the incessant call to consume. Not only does this facilitate the massive overconsumption which fattens the corporations and ruins the Earth but it enforces the status quo as people are loath to take action or positions which may seperate them from that which they "deserve".

I suspect that a lot more is known about human behavior than is commonly acknowledged and this knowledge is being used to manipulate populations.

17. I spent a year+ on another board that was a mix of freepers and liberals
Edited on Sat May-21-05 11:41 AM by TheGoldenRule
And I have to say that over time, I found that the brainwashing of the freepers was overwhelmingly obvious since their talking points were always the same. They all need deprogramming but they'll never get it.

At least my freeper radar is pretty good now-LOL!

19. An interesting thing about brainwashing is that it works even if
you are aware it is going on... simply knowing that you are being brainwashed sounds like it would keep you from being brainwashed, but it doesn't.

20. I agree that "the finger pointing" and "guilt" that this article implies
in our culture that there is "no question" that "fear" of "rejection of old values" creates "metacommunication" in our society.

great article thanks

22. The American govt is guilty of using Psy-Ops against its own people
Admit it. Its happening.

The ultimate justice would be to find documentary proof that they are doing this on a large scale. It would be the trial of the century.

Nixonian school of dirty tricks (young republicans classes of 1965-72). They learned well that to really pull off the coup you must have the media under your thumb.

25. HYPNOSIS of the One eyed monster
1) HYPNOSIS - Inducing a high state of suggestibility, often thinly disguised as relaxation or meditation.

a. Repetitive Music (most likely with a beat close to the human heart 45 to 72 beats per minute). Most likely used during "study sessions" as the teacher will say the music helps you relax and concentrate better!

b. Voice Roll -- A "voice roll" is a patterned, paced style used by hypnotists when inducing a trance. It is also used by many lawyers, several of whom are highly trained hypnotists, when they desire to entrench a point firmly in the minds of the jurors. A voice roll can sound as if the speaker were talking to the beat of a metronome or it may sound as though he were emphasizing every word in a monotonous, patterned style. The words will usually be delivered at the rate of 45 to 60 beats per minute, maximizing the hypnotic effect.

c. Room "Feel" - The way a room feels is essential to hypnotizing unknowing subjects. It needs special lighting, florescent lights are best because they aren't too dim, but aren't too harsh. Also, Room Temp helps a bit, usually a little cooler than normal room temperature. You need to have the unknowing subjects very relaxed, perhaps even close to falling asleep.
