Wartime reports debunk Speer as the Good Nazi

By Kate Connolly in Berlin
(Filed: 11/05/2005)

Albert Speer, Hitler's architect and munitions minister, was fully aware of and involved in the mass murder of Jews despite his lifelong claims to the contrary, new documents have shown.

Speer's reputation in Germany as the "Good Nazi" who stood by Hitler only because it enabled him to fulfil his dreams to become an architect of international acclaim, has been blackened by the disclosures that he was fully informed of the human destruction in Auschwitz, the largest of the Nazi's murder factories.

His insistence that he knew nothing about Auschwitz or the crimes against Jews, meant that he was the only leading Nazi to escape execution following the Nuremberg trials. Instead he was sentenced to 20 years in prison and after his release in 1966, went on to become the best-selling author of books such as Inside the Third Reich and Spandau: Secret Diaries. He died in 1981, spending his last years in London.

His insistence that, despite being the closest Nazi to Hitler, he knew nothing of the Holocaust, led to many Germans adopting a similar stance of denial,

3. A grave error was made at the conclusion of WWII by not executing Nazis
found guilty at Nuremburg but giving them, their families, colleagues and social networks identities and jobs as Americans working in national security battling godless communism.

This was the worst betrayal of our nation ever, the inclusion of real Nazis in the foundation of our US intelligence community.

Some of these Nazis became prominent Americans like Bell Aircraft V.P. Walt Dornberger (man, did he ever sell a lot of helicopters for use in Vietnam!).

During WWII SS General Walter Dornberger was in charge of production and construction at the Nazi terror rocket base at Peenemunde (Von Braun was also SS).

This base was constructed by slaves from the Dora camp. The average life span of the slave in that project was about six months, based on minimal caloric intake. Some of Peenemunde was literally dug by hand.

When production or construction lagged slaves would be hung in groups and their bodies left to decompose. This was what SS General Walter Dornberger did in WWII, prior to becoming a real American success at Bell Aircraft.

Then there was the "father of space medicine", Dr. Hubertus Strughold.
Prior to having his office at the School of Aviation Medicine at Brooks AFB in Texas, during WWI Hubertus Strughold headed the Luftwaffe Institute for Aviation Medicine.

He had authority over the terminal "medical experiments" conducted on slaves from Auschwitz and elsewhere. I'd rather not discuss what was done to the experimental subject slaves.

Anyone interested in the recruitment of Nazis by the US should use a search on Operation PAPERCLIP or OVERCAST, for starts. It's hidden history and very important to understand some of the events of today, imo and experience.

4. A very unhealthy Speer-fascination is going on.
in Germany. On top of the "usual" Hitler-mania.

Speer is being used as proxy, as to say: if an important cabinet-level minister was not guilty, then so was probably my <insert relative>.

It is bullshit. He knew and worked on it; his work has killed an unfathomable number of people.

I am sick by the endless parade of people conservatives want to see remembered as "innocent"; be it Speer, Nazi Diplomats, Nazi-Propaganda makers, SS-Soldiers, the author of the race laws...

Yet when it comes to re-establishing the honor of deserters and gay victims of the Hitlerism, then they start crying "outrage" on the top of their voices. :puke:
