How else can this POSSIBLY be explained?:

Smoking Gun Memo?
Iraq Bombshell Goes Mostly Unreported in US Media

Media Advisory (5/10/05)

Journalists typically condemn attempts to force their colleagues to disclose anonymous sources, saying that subpoenaing reporters will discourage efforts to expose government wrongdoing. But such warnings seem like mere self-congratulation when clear evidence of wrongdoing emerges, with no anonymous sources required-- and major news outlets virtually ignore it.

A leaked document that appeared in a British newspaper offered clear new evidence that U.S. intelligence was shaped to support the drive for war. Though the information rocked British Prime Minister Tony Blair's re-election campaign when it was revealed, it has received little attention in the U.S. press.

The document, first revealed by the London Times (5/1/05), was the minutes of a July 23, 2002 meeting in Blair's office with the prime minister's close advisors. The meeting was held to discuss Bush administration policy on Iraq, and the likelihood that Britain would support a U.S. invasion of Iraq. "It seemed clear that Bush had made up his mind to take military action, even if the timing was not yet decided," the minutes state.

The minutes also recount a visit to Washington by Richard Dearlove, the head of the British intelligence service MI6: "There was a perceptible shift in attitude. Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

2. Beginning of the War equalled RATINGS!
Terrst 'tacks = round-da-clock watching!

Obsession with any, ANY fluff piece (i.e., Schiavo, Liz Smart, Lori Hacking, Runaway Brides, etc) to distract from Presi-dense Dumbshit's multiple fuck-ups keeps Dumberica babysat in their shitty diapers.

The media doesn't give a Cleveland steaming SHIT about news or reporting anymore. It's the new way - beginning 20 years back with that dickhead Reaganite Rupert Murdoch - you promote and deify the party that feeds you. Your duty is to your SHAREHOLDERS and BENEFACTORS. NO one else. Most of the media CEOs are Grand GOP Cyclops from way back. Summer Redstone said it himself, and I'm paraphrasing - "I vote Bush. I vote what's best for Viacom".

Unless Soros or someone huge starts ponying up money to create a channel that does what it's SUPPOSED to do - that is, call President Assbastard and his cabal of criminals for what they really are - you might as well get and stay used to it. He who hath all the money, media and wired-in voters who share the same brain . . . maketh all the rules. The message truly IS with the money.

4. Meanwhile
Edited on Wed May-11-05 06:11 AM by CWebster
Oblivious Americans plaster "support the troops" magnets over the back of their SUVs. And who spearheads the national debate about the oil wars that are fought and the troops that kill and are killed so suburbanites have the "right" to keep up with the Joneses while the treasury is drained? No one, no one addresses parents and suggests that the family suburban tank used by mom to go to the mall, or usher kids to the soccer game, may be draining future Social Security benefits for the kids- to fund the oil wars today. Who talks about the loophole created that exempts all those gas guzzlers from emmissions standards? No one, because there are big profits to be made by Corporate America making hay while the sun shines- and corporate America represents the perversion of the American dream. So, no one says a word.

6. The media has to support Bush.........................
Who pays the media? Corporations. Think about it. Bush's policies are like a wet dream to the corporations, they are getting more than they've ever dared to dream of. If the media were to make us aware of what is truly going on in our country no one would buy anything. Everyone would hold on to every dime they have. People would freak out and realize how bad the economy is and realize that we are no longer free. As long as the sheeple are calm they will keep buying product, and as long we keep buying, corporations can keep paying media outrageous money to make sure nothing messes this cycle up. Can you imagine what would have happened to the U.S. if the "media" would have revealed the last election was rigged? Outraged customers do not make for happy customers and we can't have that, right?

7. Take this story along with the New York Times wanting to get more
people to belive in it by catering to Ma and Pa Kettle and you can see that the MSM is not what we need to concentrate on today.

We have to find a new way to get the message to the people and I don't know what it is yet. Maybe we need ad space on McDonald's soft drink cups.

10. Looks like the Dan Rather intimidation has worked as planned
One day this week on Tom Hartmann, there was some talk that they (the media) are trying to verify the authenticity of the documents. :eyes:

So, apparently, they've already been attacked as being forged or they're all saying, "We have to make certain this is for real. Remember Dan Rather...Remember Dan Rather...Remember Dan Rather."
