16. The report on ABC Nightly News
Edited on Tue May-10-05 05:48 PM by Tactical Progressive
was that a grenade was thrown that landed about 100 feet away from Bush and that Georgian security picked it up. Neither Bush nor the Secret Service even knew it happened until the Georgians told them about it afterwards.

It obviously wasn't armed.

17. It wasn't armed, but
it could have been. Just shows how impossible it is to totally protect the emperor.

I bet he shit himself when he saw it.

18. As much as I'd like to see the man slip on a banana peel...
Assassination has never been and will never be a legitimate political act. If it were, then not only would it be legitimate for dictators to be removed by these means, but it would also be equally legitimate for the same dictators to rise to power by these means. It would also be legitimate for those dictators to eliminate their opposition by these means, a la Hitler, Stalin, Pinochet, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, et cetera.

If it WERE to happen, however, the tears I would shed would be for democracy, not for the man.
