Do something
I am humbly asking everyone to get involved with their local or state Democratic party. I know, many of you already are, some at high levels, but this message is for anyone who isn't, please start attending county meetings. There is much work to be done before '06, and re-taking the house is vital. We need to contact our fellow citizens on a local level over the next 18 months to explain the Democratic position on issues, many people don't think we have an agenda. The truth is, the corporate media won't tell the people what our agenda is, so it's up to us. On election day, if you are able, be a poll watcher or election judge, the last three elections have shown what an important job this is. Most importantly, UNITE, we have many differences, we always have, and we always will, but now is the time to join with those we don't agree with for the good of the party, and ultimately, the good of the country. There is no action to small to be of value, if you give the party one hour of service between now and November '06, you will have made a difference. I will get off the soap box now, I thank you all for all you have done, and all we will do together in the future.

2. It's going to be a waste of time until we get rid of the rigged machines.
Diebold and ES&S machines "count" our votes. Nothing is going to mean shit until we get rid of these obscenities.

Stalin said, "It's not who casts the votes that matters. It's who counts them."

Until and unless we can get a fair election, even Tom DeLay could end up as president in 2008. And however insane that sounds, try picturing anyone who would have predicted that George W. would end up as president. Twice!

3. Unfortunately Cyrano you are absolutely correct. Therefore get involved
at the board of election level. Run for office or support someone whose position is paper ballots and hand counts-NOW!

4. I'm a Dem in Florida which is like being a piece of butter in hell.
Edited on Sun May-08-05 06:20 PM by Cyrano
I've been doing everything possible since the 2000 election, but with Governor Jeb in charge, it's all just pissing into the wind.

Don't believe it? Come on down.

On edit: And it's not just the machines. "Felons lists," intimidation of minority voters at the polling places, dirty trick phone calls before and on election day: These are all in the playbook of the thugs running this country. And until the majority of Americans get their heads out of their asses, we will go on getting screwed. It may already be too late.

5. I'm in Virginia and I don't go to church on Sundays so you think
you feel (metaphorically) like a pat of butter in Hell, I'm 100% with you.

We not only have the Republican Majority but we also have an extreme bunch of people that believe that if you don't go to church, they have a better chance of going to Heaven than I do (No joke, a girl I worked with said that. Later she came back and apologized though).

Also, a man said to a friend of mine who was carrying the New
International Version of the Bible (NIV), that she was going to go to Hell if she didn't start reading the original Bible. Poor, dumb, uneducated thing. He thinks the King James Version is the original Bible. Wonder if he ever watches the Discovery Channel? Doubt it. If he did he might hear of the "Dead Sea Scrolls" and understand that the "King James Version" is the first English version that was translated. Idiots.

So unless we move (and when the second Civil War begins, I'm going North to my own people) they are going to start hanging us for not being a true "Baptist" or being a Catholic in a different community that was all Lutheran. Having a Methodist Church built in a town that hate the way Methodist's believe.

This is where we are going . . .
