OATH OF ENLISTMENT

I (STATE YOUR NAME), DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (OR AFFIRM) THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC, THAT I WILL BEAR TRUTH FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; AND THAT I WILL OBEY THE ORDERS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE ORDERS OF THE OFFICERS APPOINTED OVER ME, ACCORDING TO REGULATIONS AND THE UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE. SO HELP ME GOD.


Millions of Americans have taken that oath and no where does it say anything about supporting and defending any religious document. You are fucking insane frist and you are now a slave to the religiously insane.

I guess falwell, dobson, etc would want our Soldiers and Sailors and Marines to break their oath to ensure Americans compliance with their religious beliefs at the expense of the Constitution.

That's the bottom line my fellow Americans.

1. And if I may add...

the 'So Help Me God' at the end is optional; if you don't want to say it you don't have to. I didn't for my last 2-3 enlistments.

And note the order of oaths:

1. Support and defend the constitution against all enemies (domestic included!)
2. Bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution (faith to the document)
3. Then I obey the President and those he appoints over me.

Those were my priorities when active.
