There are only two ways to guarantee the long-term solvency of Social Secu
rity.

1.Reduce benefits, and/or
2.Raise taxes.

Anyone who says otherwise is a damned liar. Bush continues to conflate the solvency issue with piratization, however--banking once again on the ignorance and complacency (or, if you're an optimist, the trusting nature) of the American people. It's the same strategy Bushco used to hype the invasion of Iraq--Saddam equals bin Laden equals mushroom cloud--but this time those trusting American souls ain't buying it. Fool me twice, you can't get fooled again.
