They have GOT to be kidding: Conservative martyr complex alert
I found this organization's publication at work today, waiting to be collated and stapled (we're a printer/bindery). So I snitched a copy. When I found this particular article, I had to post it.

Oh, poor babys. Sooo underprivleged.

Conservatives are the true party of the underprivileged
by Bob Dohnal, Publisher of the Digest

"Growing up my Dad always told me that the Democrats were the party of the little guy and the Republicans were the party of the fat cat business men. How times have changed. Now, the Dems are the wholly owned subsidiary of the government unions, the eccentric billionaires, and the trial lawyers. While at the same time, the GOP has become the party of the small businessmen, the property taxpayers, the pro-life church goers, the sportsmen, and the conservatives. We have converted many Reagan democrats into full membership in the GOP.

Most distressing is the failure of the liberals to educate poor children, particularly the low income children who want to climb out of the cycles of poverty but are trapped — like sharecroppers in the old south — by 40 years of failed liberal programs.

Leave it to the conservatives to find a way out for these kids by giving them vouchers that they can attend the school of their choice. And that they can be lifted from low income status and become taxpayers, contributing to society and their families instead of spending decade after decade on the dole. Leave it to the liberals to find a way to keep them in a permanent dependent status so that they will continue to vote for the dems who conveniently ignore them except at election time.

School choice is the best way for many of these kids to break the cycle of poverty. You must be able to read and compute if you are to have any hope of getting off the streets and into the job market. School choice gives these kids this chance."

5. Things are not always what they seem--
Republicans are slick operators. They use articles like this to paint themselves "the prty of the underprivileged. Then in all venues
keep repeating we are the party of poor, little guy whatever" and pretty soon the little guy thinks they belong with repub;icans.

This is how they have the RR. We are the party of family values.
We are the party of fami;ly values. Guess what--just look at how they
havedconned the RR.

Yhry hsve one goal--to rulle for next 50 years. They get up each day
trying to expland their party.

We are the party of the poor--We raise our eyebrows.
They plow ahead bringing people into their party.

like their "Discover the Network" site? And why can't democrats chant endlessly what they stand for at every opportunity, it might help. If something is repeated alot, many people do begin to believe, because if lies are being thrown around unchallenged-what does that say about human nature?

13. The victim/martyrdom complex
Edited on Tue Apr-19-05 03:36 AM by Crunchy Frog
is pretty much what keeps these people going.

Youve read "What's the Matter with Kansas" haven't you? It's about being perpetual victims of a liberal conspiracy. Perpetual underdogs, even though they control all the levers of power.

It's a pretty good racket that they've got going.

14. That's what they believe
"the GOP has become the party of the small businessmen, the property taxpayers, the pro-life church goers, the sportsmen, and the conservatives"

The Repubicans are the patriotic, working, churchgoers who pay the taxes, fight the wars and hold the communities and country together.

I know alot of working people who believe this and want lower taxes, less regulation, less land use laws, local school control, etc.; to make their lives easier.

It's what they think. Reaching them is not going to be an easy job.
