"The Lone Gunman" - a spin-off of "The X-Files", aired it's pilot episode on March 4, 2001. (FYI, the Lone Gunman were those three eccentric conspiracy researchers that were always about 6 months ahead of FBI agents Sculley and Mulder in the show "The X-Files".)

"The Cold War's over, John. But with no clear enemy to stock pile against, the arms market's flat.
But bring down a fully-loaded 727 into the middle of New York City;
you'll find a dozen tin-pot dictators all over the world, just clamoring to take responsibility. And begging to be smart bombed."This show was aired in prime-time on FOX and had fairly high ratings. Yet no one mentioned it at all until months after 9/11. It seems like it should have been a major topic of discussion, with the news reporting on how this scenario had been portrayed in a prime-time show just six months earlier.
