Veterans Group Calls on Congress to Impeach George W. Bush & Richard Chene

ST. LOUIS--On March 30, a national veterans’ organization called for the removal of President George W. Bush and Vice-President Richard Cheney for crimes the group charges were committed during the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
In a letter sent to each member of the US House and Senate, Veterans For Peace (VFP) stated that “...This administration’s war on Iraq, in addition to being increasingly unpopular among Americans, is an unmistakable violation of our Constitution and federal law which you have sworn to uphold. In our system, the remedy for such high crimes is clear: this administration must be impeached.”

David Cline, a decorated Vietnam War combat veteran and VFP president, said in a prepared statement to the press, "We do not make this call lightly and as former members of the US armed forces, we take our responsibilities as citizens very seriously. For that reason we believe that when our government conducts a war of aggression on Iraq and commits a growing and appalling series of what must legally be considered war crimes and crimes against humanity in the execution of that war, it violates Article VI of the US Constitution, the War Crimes Act of 1996 (18 U.S.C. § 2441), and numerous international treaties which are legally binding on our nation."

The VFP organization has come out with a very strong, extremely aggressive attack on bush and his gang. Even if the Swiftboat Liars attempt to discredit these men, I suspect the VFP will counterattack immediately and vociferously.

Bush should be impeached...undeniably. I've known for a long time that when the monkey thumbed his nose at the UN and didn't secure Security Council approval to invade he was committing an international crime as well as a crime against our own Constitution which binds us to international treaties that have been approved by Congress and signed by an American president.
He took an oath, folks, and he blatantly ignored his responsibility under the Constitution.
The proof is there...what are we waiting for?

I love these guys! Vets for Peace are true heroes, and my idea of Patriots.

I just have to share something with DU, and this thread seems like an appropriate spot.

I have come to believe that we have a lot of support for impeachment if we can get publicity and let the average American know it is legally possible. I will share my own unintentional poll: I have a CafePress store like a lot of people here do. WELL I never had ANY traffic at all. Then I put up a bunch of political Bumper stickers because I had no money to donate to MoveOn, etc. and I was so angry. I expressed every issue that came up; the Boxer rebellion, Black Box Voting, Anti War, Anti GATS, EVERYTHING. I am not kidding, the ONLY stickers that sell—at a rate of 20-25 a month—is the "Support our Troops, Impeach Bush" Bumper sticker, and an Oval W "AWOL" sticker. Consistently! All over the United States. I especially love my frequent Texas and Ohio sales. What it tells me is the people going to my site do not follow all the issues, probably watch MSM, but HATE this regime. We are not alone!!!
I have been afraid to post this because it would look like a "plug", but NOTHING else sells. Nothing...that should tell us something. Oh and they are over priced because I donate a portion of the profits. Overpriced, yet people are sometimes buying 5 at a time. IMPEACH BUSH...sounds so good.
