To the Editor:

Politicians and pundits have reacted to the Terri Schiavo situation in the same way they reacted to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.

In both instances, despite polls showing that a large majority of Americans opposed the agenda being pushed by a right-wing minority, few dared to oppose these extremists in public.

If we in the majority do not overcome our fear of the radical right, we will risk the loss of our democracy.

Thank you sir! Well said. We have seen the radical right at its worst over the past couple of weeks. They are, indeed, the proverbial "squeaky wheel"; a wheel with rusty bearings, dragging down the machine and demanding grease with their strident, whiny, intimidating braying.

1. The radical right despises humanity.

I've yet to see a flicker of a soul in the eyes of one of these fucks when I ask them if it bothers them that we've killed over 100,000 Iraqi's. They despise life. They will fight for the unborn, the non-existant or the living dead, but will not lift a finger to help living beings unless there's something in it for them, namely, some kind of a material reward in the afterlife.
