13. I don't know.
They're all awful choices -- but they'd all be heavily funded and heavily promoted. The GOP money/propaganda machine could make anyone look good to the sheeple.

In the meantime, I love your Johnny Cash quote/pic. I don't even like country music, but I've always loved the lyrics of "Man in Black" and admired Cash for doing the song.

... Jeb Bush and Terri Schiavo in 2008.

Out of 8 replies, 3 were in agreement.

8. I'm no fan of Schwarzenagger's, but......
There would be a certain small sense of victory with he, or Pataki, or Giulliani as the candidate in that they are pro choice and pro-gay rights. They are loathsome on any number of other issues but it would be as close to a concession as we'll get on the republican party's part that they lost both of those issues.

are the size of ball bearings. Very, very small ball bearings.

Also, the sex and drug orgies won't play as well in Nebraska as they did here.

19. I can't begin to chose one
Part of me would go with anyone on your poll list, BUT the country has gone so far into the looney bin that candidate might be declared to have won.

So part of me would like to go with a good decent Repuke (there are a few, damn few) but then it might make the Dem candidate's race way too tight. Still if we still have the same damn voting machine crap, PLEASE let it be someone sane.

So, I'm just going to enjoy the Texas Repuke primary bloodbath next March and hope that before 2008 this country is finally ashamed enough to get back to what we use to denigrate as "politics as usual". Oh for the old days of "politics as USUAL".

20. George Pataki
he is too moderate and a Yankee so he wont do well in the South. but he also doesn't have anything appealing within him to get enough Democrats to crossover for him.

Tom Ridge is another good choice.

...but doesn't McCain, in spite of his age, still have aspirations of running? Why else would he have joined himself at the hip this past time to a guy he hates for sliming McCain and McCain's wife as much as Chimpy did?

Everyone would see how mean spirited and self-righteously hypocritical the right wing really is. At least I hope they would.

Plus, I can make lots of fun jokes about what his name means now.

Would force the racist and sexist south to either think before they vote (and maybe bring the south back to the Dems) or be nailed as hypocrites that they are.
