6. geocities sucks ...
i think the deal is that they don't like links that bring you to something other than your home page (where they put their ads) ... and they also limit how many bytes per day (or whatever) can be transmitted from your account ...

their goal is to get you to buy a more expensive account from them ...

www.photobucket.com is one such place.
