Will fundies ever forgive W. for not ordering Schiavo restoration of tube?
This is a president who has claimed "inherent power" to imprison Americans forever without judicial review, to take invade another country, to torture, on his mere say-so as commander in chief and executive, even in the face of statutes and treaties to the countrary.

Now the fundies are demanding he use a bit of that power to take custody of Terri Schiavo's body.

The fundies have been led to believe Bush agrees that something awful is happening in Florida. Murder, torture, etc. So they demand he act.

But Bush won't, and fundies want to know why.

How can Bush now claim that he is powerless? How can Bush now claim that he must respect the court's decisions, or the laws as written? How can Bush, who has consistently declared that his hands are NEVER tied, claim his hands are tied?

He could, of course, just say that he would rather win on SS and tax cuts then spend political capital on Schiavo. That's the truth, after all.

I think the fundies won't forgive him.

2. No, he's their connection to god in the White House.................
he'll claim that he didn't have the power (and he doesn't) to have it put back in, and they'll lap it up and blame the REAL villains, LIBERALS! Yep, we're satan in the flesh. :eyes:

4. Doesn't have the power legally--but findies don't care, demand action.
You are looking at the law. The fundies aren't, and couldn't care less.

They are asking him to just send in troops, and expecting him to.

Blaming the liberals only counts if Bush has to care what liberals think. In countless areas, he has said he doesn't have to follow Congress, courts, constitution, anything.

3. I wouldn't be surprise if he tries to write an excutive order to keep her
alive. I would not count BUSHCO completely out just yet. Knowing how this band of Thugs work it would not surpise me to see them try one more thing before the week ends.

FAUX is pimping this for all its worth.

8. i think they'll believe him
forgiveness isn't necessary, since the boy king is perfect in his eyes. He'll speak about how horrible it is, and they'll think he's grieving right along with them. I don't think this will separate the fundies from their boy.

But it has seemed to increase the rift b/w the fundies and the rest of the party.

10. Bush will exploit this to appoint more right wing judges and
support Tom DeLay's upcoming efforts to impeach and remove judges who follow the law. Bush's followers will continue to support and worship him. To do otherwise would involve reason.
