When will we ever be proud to be Democrats again?
I think it starts by electing people who will vote thier minds, not what is politically correct or what the "moral majority" will think.

Yet another dark day for the democratic party for not standing up for our principles.......

1. Democrats should rally around select core principles...
...and address the nuanced ones after election.

2. I'm proud right now ...
That is, I'm proud of what I believe and what I fight for.

It's all those other people I'm a bit worried about. :-)

6. Did you watch the coverage?
The dems that were there spoke eloquently and passionately against this, not to mention they were far better informed that the pukes.

If you can find a rerun, watch it, we still have a few we can be VERY proud of.

7. Who cares about a few
The bill passed 203-58 with Dems going 47 to 53 against it. I did see the speeches on the floor, and they were good, but who really cares about rhetoric when the action is not there. This is a very sad day again. We have totally given up on principles and our will to FIGHT BACK!

I am so pissed.

8. I too am pissed, and in mourning for the Constitution
but that is the reason WHY I am proud of the few. They knew they would lose, and I knew and you probably knew but they showed up anyway and fought the good fight when they could have been home with their families. They did it because it was the right thing to do and for that I am proud. Not all of us have given up. I give credit where credit is due. We all know who caved, I would like to acknowledge those that didn't.

9. The Dems will rise again
I have to believe that we will gain the majority again. And there will be so much damage to fix! We are the party of real values and respect for the Constitution.

10. Thanks, me too.
The minute I give up, Canada will be welcoming a new citizen.

11. I Feel Proud Now
If we expect every single Democratic elected official to always vote exactly the way we would on every issue than we're not doing the party any favors. I agree that sometimes certain officials get so caugt up in their next re-election and how a vote will look that they do things that go against what is best. But this is how the system is set up and the apathy of voters in general keeps it running this way.

If you're not proud to be a Democrat there is not much sense in being one -- God knows there aren't any rewards in it politically these days.

watching from the sidelines, imagine what things are like at the front.

13. I never stopped being proud to be a Democrat.
The party is still the 'big tent' it always was, and I'm proud to be a member.
