Al Sharpton calls for ban on violent music on radio/TV
*** Note: This is not an endorsement of the opinions of the two people in question***

Not unlike what Hillary Clinton was vilified for on DU recently, Rev. Al Sharpton said he will propose a 90-day ban on radio and television airplay for any performer who uses violence in their music to make a profit.

The activist and former presidential candidate plans to ask the Federal Communications Commission and major radio broadcasters around the country to support the ban.

"There has to be a way to step in and regulate what's going on with the airwaves and with violence," Sharpton told the Daily News in Monday editions. "The airwaves are being used to romanticize urban violence."

1. Violence in music?...

This phrase bugs me.

What if I write a song about domestic violence? Is it acceptable because I am writing from a victims point of view?

Who would decide what is permittable?

3. He is no liberal (in the true sense)
He is right up there with "Holy" Joe Lieberman, Hillary Clinton and Tipper Gore.

What did he get, like 1% of the primary vote? Hey Sharpton, take your al-mentum and just go away already!
