Secret U.S. Plans For Iraq's Oil by Greg Palast for BBC Newsnight
Summary:
Investigative journalist Greg Palast of the BBC reveals yet another twist to the Bush Administration’s Iraq invasion plan, reporting how “Big Oil” executives plans to sell off Iraqi oil won out in a “policy war” to decide the fate of Iraqi oil waged “within weeks” of President Bush taking office, long before the Sept 11 2001 attacks on the US.

Palast reveals the political links to Ahmed Chalabi, and other Iraqi “insiders” and how they fit into a proposed plan to sell Iraqi oil off to undercut Opec, and how this plan may be inciting “insurgent” attacks on Iraqi oil wells and pipelines.

3. Who's going to do it? Will this even make it into US press?

Without mass dissemination of the information we have here, what can we do to convince the sheeple of the truth? Most of American believes if it's important they'll see it on the news. They don't understand that their news has become distraction stories and infotainment.

Maybe it's time for a powerful world press organization to break through the iron curtain here?

2. Given the ANWR Vote
(which buys an infinitesimally small amount of time) - the Halliburton - Bechtel - Seimens plan is to go nuclear (where nuclear generated electricity is used to produce the electrolytic hydrogen for the Cheney "Hydrogen Economy")

ANWR has the effect of reducing the psychological push for photovoltaics, wind turbines, hybrid ev cars, econo cars, etc.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Girls and Boys --
1. We are running out of crude oil. "Abiotic Oil" may be the next "Intelligent Design" - "Creation Science" thing (been discussed here). When we have reached - or will reach - "Peak Oil" may be open for debate. ANWR drilling may buy us a few months. Hut "Peak Oil" - at least in terms of "cheap crude" is a fact.

=> This drives us to hydrogen.

=> All of the "Big Oil" companies have "hydrogen" in their research and development and their Intellectual Property portfolios (I know - they also have photolvoltaics in the same portfolios - but that is "probably" defensive).

2. There are only two sources of hydrogen for the hydrogen economy.

    a. "Reforming" fossil fuels - which requires fossil fuels.
    b. Electrolysis of water -- which requires lots of electricity.

3. Where are we going to get electricity to make the hydrogen?

    a. Burn fossil fuels - natural gas, bunker C, coal. (The dog is chasing his tail)
    b. Photovoltaic - takes about a square foot to trickle charge your lap top or auto battery. That's trickle charge. (I am pro-solar).
    c. Wind turbines. Feasible.
    d. Nuclear -- Halliburton and Bechtel build nuclear plants. Several big GOP contributors in the electric power industry operate nuclear plants.

4. The "secret plan" --- a hydrogen economy in 20 years - where the hydrogen is produced by electrolysis of water --- with electricity from nuclear power plants -- built by Halliburton --- for GOP contributors.

I am/was in the "industry" -- and that's what I smell.
