Gephardt Camp Joins Clark Campaign in New Mexico
At 2:00 we were notified that the Gephardt Campaign here in New Mexico is joining The Clark Campaign. Thear core team is working for Clark now! It will be anounced on local TV tonight. The campaign manager is an old friend go Gephardt but is convinced Clark has the best chance to beat Bush.

12. Yes we will
But I didn't hear anyone from the Dean camp complaining about CMB jumping on board.

At least Gep HAS some weight to throw behind Clark.

11. Me Too
I think it will make a difference here in New Mexico but I was hoping for something with National significance. Perhaps it will start a trend?

13. Will Gephardt endorse Clark?
Edited on Thu Jan-22-04 05:36 PM by in_cog_ni_to
I wonder? I know all of the campaigns have been "courting" him. Have you heard anything like that?

This is GREAT news!

Go, Wes!

15. Good news for NM, and maybe all over.
Clark coordinator, Lisa Young, in Missouri sent out an email Monday night that said she had received a call from Little Rock that no decisions had been made yet with Gep's with drawl from the race and that the situation in Missouri has obviously changed. She stated that she expected to hear soon from Little Rock and that they are on "high alert."

I have to wonder, Gep has nothing to lose by throwing support to anybody--it isn't like he's staying in office--maybe Little rock is in negotiations with Gep on an endorsement... Given today's announcement, I suppose it could be a state by state decision, but what if it isn't? What if they are going to go Clark?

WOW! If that is the case it could be HUGE.

20. This means NOTHING without the rank and file union support
Let's face it, Gephardt's campaign staff is hardly a great asset - and if they couldn't bring out the rank and file for Gephardt in Iowa, what can do they for Clark?

If Clark gets rank and file union members, that's something else.

21. Clark is already leading in NM polls
Has been for awhile. SOMEONE's supporting him, whether or not Gep supporters switched.
