1. I'm so pissed about this that I could scream
It's not even that the decision is foolish, will cost taxpayers billions of dollars and is seen as a comparison that a junkie votes to ask you and me to pay for his smack, but the level of ignorance from the American public about this and the lack of outrage that this vote happened...

...I'm beginning to think that Americans don't deserve America.

5. They don't. They think that somehow their gasoline will cost less if we
drill there.
Where is the logic in that? There is no supply and demand mechanism at work here.

We have no alternative to oil yet.

We cannot do without oil yet.

There aren't many suppliers competing for our dollars.

The market rules do not dictate gasoline prices. Oil companies do. Alaskan oil will not be available for many years from now and by then we won't be able to drive for pleasure anymore.

Try to block passing the full budget in the house. It happened last year. It can happen again.

If any of these rotten SOBs live in YOUR state, here's a way to take action--by telling them "I strongly urge you to support efforts to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the future by excluding provisions for drilling in this wild land from federal budget legislation."
