I'm trying to figure out what Alaska offered Hawaii in exchange for their ANWR votes. I haven't been to Hawaii for many years but recall that gasoline prices were WAY higher than mainland prices so I'm curious as to what they are now. I'm wondering if Alaska offered Hawaii some sort of deal relating to gasoline prices in exchange for the votes.
Anybody have other ideas why both senators from Hawaii voted for ANWR?
It's big out west, and especially so in Alaska and Hawaii. They don't want people from outside the state telling them what they can or can't do with their own land. Thus, since Alaska wanted the drilling, Hawaii is going to let them drill.
