Hope it is significant that Senator Snowe just signed on as co-sponsor to
Cantwell/Kerry even though she has voted against ANWR drilling reliably in the past.

4. Me either. The last ANWR cloture vote was 54 against and 46 yeas.
Campbell who voted for cloture and for ANWR drilling has been replaced by Salazar who evidently will vote for the Cantwell/Kerry amendment.

Breaux voted for ANWR drilling, but has been replaced by a real Republican who will voted for drilling and against the Cantwell amendment.

Fitzgerald who voted against drilling replaced by Obama who will vote likewise.

Inoyue will again vote to drill in ANWR. Don't know about Akaka or Landrieu. Anyone out there know how they will vote?

Miller of Georgia has been replaced by a Republican who will no doubt vote the same as Miller did, with the Republicans.

We must keep Chafee, Collins, DeWine, Jeffords, McCain, Smith, and Snowe. Don't know if any of these moderate Republicans will vote for Cantwell/Kerry except Snowe, but I suspect most, if not all, will. Jefford should be good for us.

Anyone know if Sununu R-NH will vote against ANWR drilling like his predecessor Bob Smith, did? His vote could make he difference, obviously. I kinda doubt he will buck Dubya on this.

He has come out in support of drilling in the past.

8. DeMint, Burr, Martinez
The WaTimes says they're voting for Cantwell-Kerry. I think that does it, but those names are in an article that says drilling will stay in the budget. So I don't know.

9. Smith Is A Yes
I've seen absolutely nothing to indicate that Chafee, Jeffords, and McCain will switch their votes, so add those three to Norm Coleman's Yes vote, Snowe's co-sponsorship and Smith's vote, and that's making this a razor-thin vote (but with momentum our way).

Keep the pressure on Akaka, Landrieu, Collins and DeWine!

10. DeWine is a Yea - I called
Akaka is not saying one way or the other.

Ditto w/Landrieu, but her aide asked me to "just wait for the vote."

Snowe's aide indicated to me that Collins would be voting Yea, but her office
told me "they didn't know" but their ears pricked up when I told them that Snowe would be voting Yea.
