2. Works fine for me
you may have a router problem with your ISP or somewhere in between.

You also might try clearing your browser cache.

3. No problem here either. Try this...
I'm not having a problem connecting either. Perhaps your bookmark is corrupt, or the main server was momentarily overloaded? Try this link to the main page...

4. Thanks, but even the link doesn't work
and I cleared out my cache - now I'm getting paranoid. I am on my lunch at work, and wondering if it is blocked, would it say, "dailykos could not be found"? Hmmmmmmm.

EDIT: Just switched from FIREFOX to IE and got the same results. In IE I got a page that said site unavailable. Tried via the posted link, via google, and via typing the address in the location box.

8. From Americablog: Marko's message - 'I don't know what's going on yet'
FYI: DailyKos.com having problems today
by John in DC - 3/15/2005 10:19:00 PM

If you're having problems visiting DailyKos.com today, you're not alone. This message from Markos:
Guys, thanks to extraordinarily bad service from GoDaddy.com, my domain registrar, the situation wasn't resolved today. They've promised to take care of it first thing Wednesday morning.

That means the site will be zoning out for more and more of you over the next few hours. By tomorrow morning, no one should have access to the site. I don't know what's going on yet, but we'll be back up as soon as I figure out what happened, and what needs to be done to fix it.

Update: If the site dies on you, you can still view it at:

http://69.9.161.200

Or you can read some other blogs and spend extra time with the wife/husband/kids/girlfriend/boyfriend/mistress, etc.

9. Yup, indeed it's true
Just a follow-up to yesterday's post when I was having no problems with Daily Kos. This Wed. AM, I can't bring them up either using my bookmark or by typing in http://www.dailykos.com.

I'm off to try the IP number trick which by all accounts should work. Just one question though. How do you come up with the IP number if there is a DNS look-up problem and you can't reach it?

I know that browsers don't acutally seek the Arabic lettered address, but use a quick algorithm to convert and actually request the IP number.
How do I find or see that actual IP number if my browser (Mozilla Firefox) won't bring the site up in the first place?
