In a way, I hope the repubs go nuclear
because then the Dems will grind the Senate to a standstill. Isn't it better for the country if NO work gets done in this Congress? We can have emergency budgets, but beside from the budget, what good will come out of this warped, greedy, rights-stealing Congress???

1. You should clarify your OP.
I took it to mean you hoped they literally deployed a nuclear weapon.

I mean, you DON'T, do you?

4. The Dems can bring
everything to a stand still by using procedural motions on every single little thing.

In order to function, the Senate requires "commity" and respect. If the Repukes go "nuclear" and blow up the right to filibuster against horrible, life time appointed, judicial nominees then the Dems should definetly retaliate by bringing everything to a complete halt.

"For every action there is a reaction." Please please please Dems - react - fight back. If Bush stacks the courts, Repukes will not even have to be in elected office for the next 40 years to get their way.

Real progressives could take over Congress, the White House, governorships and state legislatures and try to undo all the grotesque legislation and executive orders that Repukes have put on the books - but they'd meet a brick wall on everything in the Bush Right Wing Courts. Meanwhile, the Repukes would be laughing from their comfy perches in the corpo world as they ship all their scammed dough to off shore banks, while they watch people of the US fall into poverty in staggering numbers.

This has long been the Repuke plan. If the Repukes go "nuclear" we must retaliate massively by supporting our remaining Senators in shutting down the government by the inundation of thousand of procedural motions. It truly would be a "life or death" struggle on behalf of millions well into the future.

5. Don't think like that. That is just giving in to frustration.
