8. jesus....he's still working "fulltime" for sixty minutes west, or what-
ever their JV version is

you know, the show that refuses to release the second Sibel Edmonds story....the network that refused to do the story on the WMDs that weren't because it was in the middle of the election

what makes you think he's going to be any different than the Rather that marched in lockstep behind the simpchimp right after 911?

did you read the thread earlier today, which in included Palast's updating of his 2003 interview with Rather, in which he said things he was too scared to say here?

give me a break

the same Dan Rather who was instrumental in making/spreading the myth of Lee Harvey Oswald, AKA the Patsy?

give me a break

he's done a few OK things, here and there, but, on balance, he remains a gigantically overpaid shill for those that seek to control every aspect of your life and mine

9. And you know someone who did it better, recently? Could you? Rather was a
hero. his guard story was the truth and he didn't back down and they destroyed him. Overpaid shill? Try risking your life to report the truth out of Bagda when you are in your seventies. After a lifetime of "courageous" reporting I can't believe how willing people are to condemn this man. I know I would never have had the type of "courage " he has always desplayed bith literaly under fire and under fire by several administrations. This was a man targeted by anthrax. This was a reporter hated by both the Nixon and Bush White Houses. This was a Real reporter.
