Do conservatives want to illegalize political expression?
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 04:51 PM by expatriot
I sincerely do not understand what conservativres want regarding entertainers expressing their political opinion. Evidently they are not interested in boycotting Hollywood since they still go to movies, etc. So the only thing they have left is to outlaw political expression. I am being serious. What do they want?

I don't bitch about a rich CEO's right to buy billboards and commercials. I disagree with their views but I don't say, "I spend money for their product, not for them to use it on some conservative ad campaign!" If I problem with a businesses politics, I boycott them. Why can't conservatives do the same instead of bitching about people's right to express themselves.

1. How are entertainers different from O'Reilly?
(other than O'Reilly getting hours a day of blathering)

3. I think it's only expression that differs from their current doublespeak.
Isn't that refreshing! Not.

4. The media fans the flames of the fundie-fire over this.
If they would just exercise some wisdom and common-sense and IGNORE right-wing rabble-rousing over Hollywood it wouldn't be such an issue. But NOOOO, they have to put big mouths like Wm Donahue on talk shows to tell us that we should be crapping on the entertainment industry.
Hey MEDIA - dont you think the Gannon story deserves at least 5 minutes of your time (to balance out the 100 hours of Hollywood-bashing)?

7. MSM is trying SOOO hard to be "fair and balanced"
and to deny LW bias -- that's why they spend so much time Hwd-bashing. It's like they're saying, "Hey, we criticize our own; we aren't biased."

6. We want their people to shut up--ever go to a lecture that
progressives didn't like? Whoa. Protests, shouts ...

They want our people to shut up. Protests, shouts ...

It's just they make the news.

8. Not REAL conservatives, or real republicans, for that matter...
Just the fascist neocon death cult.
