6. "Truth" is so much more important than "facts" or "reality"

Once you've decided what's correct in the world, that's truth, and bending or smashing actuality to conform to this model is much more noble than accurately or dispassionately relating what's really happening.

Of course there's a god. Global Warming's a myth. Women should be forced to carry to term, even if they were raped and birth will kill them. The rich are our most precious resource and should be subsidized at all costs. Middle Easterners don't know what's good for them, and we'll kill 'em all out of love of freedom if we have to.

It's the "because I said so, faith-based administration". Business is always good. Markets know better. People are hurt by being helped. People who disagree are lazy inferiors. I can do drugs because I'm better than you. Everyone's just jealous of us.
