from Cincinnati before Delaware! To lend credence to this tidbit of info, my boss is gay (not that there is anything wrong with that) and is very much plugged in to the local scene. Just checked people.yahoo.com and there is a James B and a William E Guckert in the 513 Cincinnati area code.

Has anyone seen any pre Delaware info on Bulldog Guckert?

Look for about a six year span of the years you think he might have been there. You should be able to view them at the library. Check the index under both names. If he was in a fraternity, sports, journalism, politically active organization, he likely put his mug in front of the lens.

You might also try a search of the catalog (hopefully it's on-line) of the local and student newspapers. :)

one of my clearest memories of high school in the late 70's was when simon leis, the city prosecutor, put larry flynt up on obscenity charges for selling hustler in the city limits. this was before someone put a bullet in his spine.

flynts' response was to call leis a hypocrite (he is), and mail a glossy full color circular of war atrocities to every house in hamilton county. it was an eye popper. the parents flipped out, but not before every kid in the city saw it.

it had a simple message: war is the real obscenity, not pink. that got through loud & clear, but the mob speaks loudly in cincinnati, so flynt is gone.

The name James Guckert is listed on an alumnus page on West Chester's TKE Fraternity's website. The email address given on that page for that name is [e-mail]. The webpage for that AOL member, members.aol.com/jdg17, has a picture of Gannon/Guckert.
The guy is a phony and a whore (in more ways than one) but it seems pretty likely that Guckert is his real name.
