Fuzzy dice--let's make it a visual meme for Social Security piratization
I think we should take a cue from the Repubs who went to Kerry rallies with flip-flop sandals. With that, and with the media constantly blasting the meme, the word became irrevocably associated with Kerry even though Bush had a much larger disjunction between how he campaigned and what he actually did.

At McDermott's forum on Social Security last Saturday, he had a big pair of fuzzy dice which was a very effective visual. I'm going to get a pair, and I think that this is a good symbol for what the Republicans want to do to Social Security. They want us to gamble. A few people will win and most will lose, but the house (Wall Street in this case) always wins. I'm suggesting that as many people as possible bring them along to any venue where Social Security might be discussed.

And for the sound track, we should use the following, courtesy of a group of college-age Republicans. This needs to be heard every time any Republican appears anywhere claiming to only want to ‘fix’ Social Security.

JOHNS: It's Drexel University in Philadelphia, day two of a week-long Social Security state tour by Republican senator Rick Santorum, pitchman for the president's plan. College Republicans show up to support him. They're trying to persuade people that there is a genuine crisis in Social Security and that the program needs to be modernized to survive. But at one point, it sounds more like they want to scrap it.

CROWD: Hey, hey, ho, ho, Social Security's got to go
