MI Senate: Bouchard and Gorcyca are both Out!
Just reported on WXYZ-TV, Detroit. Oakland County sherriff Michael Bouchard and prosecutor Dave Gorcyca have both announced that they will not run against Debbie Stabenow in 2006. Bouchard had already announced that he was running, but withdrew due to "health concerns".

Rep. Candice Miller and Atty Gen Mike Cox have already said they would not run. It looks like the GOP is going to have to go deeeeeeep into their bench and run some West Michigan wacko against debbie.

6. Here's the Bouchard link
LANSING, Mich. -- Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard on Tuesday dropped out of the 2006 race for the U.S. Senate seat held by Democrat Debbie Stabenow.

The announcement by the former Republican state senator cited undisclosed health problems. It came eight days after he entered the race, and on the same day Oakland County Prosecutor David Gorcyca said he would not seek the office for family reasons.
...
Bart Baron, an industrial engineer, is now the only Republican officially in the race to take on Stabenow.

Other Republicans considering a run are Jane Abraham, the wife of former U.S. senator and Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham; Detroit real estate developer Peter Cummings; and the Rev. Keith Butler.
