Dammit, the media's ignoring that great Iraq hearing the Dems held today
Edited on Mon Feb-14-05 04:24 PM by moggie12

The only coverage I've seen so far is on Yahoo, where they quote Harry Reid as saying the fraud and waste in the Iraq rebuilding program is "a scandal."

Please e-mail CNN and MSNBC and ask them to cover the story:

CNN

MSNBC
[email protected] copy to [email protected] and [email protected]

This is what I wrote:
Please report about the hearings the Democrats held today about the fraud and waste in the Iraq reconstruction program (they were broadcast live on C-span). It sounds like millions of taxpayer dollars were wasted!! This is an important story!

This is the summary that was on Yahoo:

This DU post describes what the Democrats said:

2. Who's fault is this?

Partially the media's to be sure. But I'd bet not a single interview, scoop, or minute of access was made contingent on thevreporting of this story.

Until someone can make a cogent argument why the rethugs' media tactics, which worked when they were in the minority almost as well as it works while they're in the majority--would somehow be ineffective for us.

Here's a little test: see if a single dem surrogate slips this little tidbit into their appearences on TV tonight. Even molre telling, see if one of them chastises a whore host for not bringing it up.

3. The only reason is because
there were no republicans there. :eyes: Of course they wouldn't be there. Heh heh. Only time the MSM speaks on anything is if it deals with a republican because the MSM is bought and paid for by Bush company.

5. Yikes, you're right
There was no mention on the hearing on the DNC website (I'll cut Dean's people some slack since they're just gearing up..)

Harry Reid had a good press release on the Senate Dems' site but I had to hunt to find it (most of site is about SS)
http://democrats.senate.gov/~dpc/press/05/2005214718.html

On the Senate Policy Committee site (which sponsored the hearing), there was an announcment of the hearing but no press release summarizing what happened!!

You're right, they've got to get better at this....

Soon, those clowns will be totally irrelevant to the rest of the world. Let them spin their little hearts out, cause nobody's listening. :D

8. Kill the cable or the dish - its a Trifecta
1. You save money
2. You help to starve the Media Borg of money.
3. You keep your mind clear for original thought (anything really important on TV you can compensate for with rabbit ears and a DVD player).

7. On the same day Bush submits an $82 billion supplemental budget request!
How much of that will "disappear".

The media is such a joke, although, as someone pointed out above, the Dems don't help themselves with their lame press efforts.

I e-mailed CNN, MSNBC, CBS and the NYT anyway, just because I've got a thick head.
