According to polling data, as many as 74% of APIA voters cast their ballots for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, responding in record numbers to the Democratic message of strengthening the economy, improving public education, and making health care more affordable. The 2004 numbers reflect a dramatic shift in support among APIAs toward Democrats over the past twelve years, as only 30% of APIA voters supported Democratic presidential candidate Bill Clinton in 1992.
