Time to ressuurect the good, olde "Credibility Gap"

and stick it to Shrub.

It needs to be hammered over and over and over how the actions of his adminsitration don't match the carefully crafted words and meme's spewed by their propoganda machine.

The words Credibility Gap need to be used with references to Shrub and all his phony public pronouncements.

1. There is no "gap." You can't believe anything they say. A new
term is needed, like "Bullshit quotient" or "reality based assessment."

3. Credibility gap is one the media would be comfortable using.
It is value neutral to them. I think Bush's credibility gap is a term to apply over and over. It is even better than Bush always crying wolf.

Anyway we can get the term credibility gap more publicity than just DU. I think the term is a winner. Also we need to hit back because the GOP are trying to smear the dems.

5. Whats the list for the credibility gap?
No WMDS in Iraq but thats gotten old.

No compassionate conservative agenda

No humble and gentle foreign policy.

No doomsday social security crisis.

No tax cuts for everyone. Preferential tax cuts for wealthy and not for everyone (estate and capital gains)

No stem cell lines that were not contaminated.

That is my start.

7. And don't forget snake-oil salesman. Because that's all he has to offer.
A lot of smoke and mirrors and snake-oil.

And as long as we're talking sales talk, don't leave out bait-n-switch.

But, YES, ABSOLUTELY we need to revive "Credibility Gap." In fact there could be an entire Johnny Carson-esque comedy routine out of it"

"HOW...BIG... is it?"

"It's SOOOOOOOOOOO big... that whenever bush speaks, the birds start nesting on his nose."

"It's SOOOOOOOOOOO big... that when bush opens his mouth, his pants start smoking."

"It's SOOOOOOOOOOO big... that Moses would mistake it for the Red Sea."

And so forth...

It would be MOST excellent to do whatever it takes to start making bush into a nightly laughing stock. Once that starts, we're halfway home. Then we start hanging him on other republi-CONS, especially those who hope to survive another election in 2006, and may NOT be eager to be associated with him and his idiot ideas by then.

Always think in terms of - what would be the best and shrewdest take-down? What can we get the most mileage out of? And if we can take him down, can we work it so he drags a few (dozen?) of his Get-Old-People, Greedy-Old-Party apologists?
