Parallel Elections

I don't trust our current system of elections. I don't trust that politicians will act in either a timely or appropriate manner to address the issue of election integrity.

The Parallel Election Project is an effort to return local control and meaningful oversight to elections in America.  Our current voting system is completely untrustworthy.  State election officials across the country have privatized and outsourced our elections to a handful of domestic and foreign corporations.  It is an open door to massive vote fraud.

We want to change that. We have decided to run our own Parallel elections.  We are organizing to place Parallel Election Pollworkers (PEPs) at as many polling stations as possible.  On election day, they'll be there to ask citizens to vote in both the Parallel and the Official elections.  We will have ballots and a ballot box.  We will give voters literature on their way into the polls, and ask voters to mark and sign a PE ballot on their way out of the polls.  We need their signature so that we can use the ballots to challenge election results, if needed.

I have committed the next two years to organizing parallel elections in my county.

I plan on spending 4 hours a week on this project. I would challenge any of you who are interested in this to spend 1 hour a week to help develop parallel elections. Of course, if our politicians get on the stick and actually put a system in place that gives us some election integrity then we'll be fine, but I'm not counting on THEM doing anything. This is grassroots action that can make a difference.

1. FULL Support for your efforts...
I think this is our only avenue left, and I fully support your efforts towards parallel elections.

I'm building a website that shows proof of OUTSOURCED elections in Georgia where we are 100% DRE state with Diebold ...
www.countpaperballots.com

I went to your website and signed up as the Georgia contact person.....
I will put full access to your data on my website. You should also contact Votewatch.us they have a charter to be a pollwatcher organization... you might consider getting Votewatch.us to leverage their thousands of volunteer poll watchers to do this as well...

GREAT NEW IDEA and won't it be interesting with this parallel system produces different results to the fraudulent DRE electronic voting systems, ha! way to go....

2. I'm going to be contacting
Election Protection and any and all other groups working on election integrity.

We can do this if we all pull together. Precinct by precinct, county by county, state by state, until the US is covered by patriot citizens taking back control of their government and ensuring that there are fair elections.

We also need to push for elections to be held on a weekend; perhaps both Saturday and Sunday.

5. Yes
Definietly. Why is it November 2nd?? I never got that personally. In Iraq they had a week long day off for voting! I remember seeing that voting video from Ohio and people were saying how some people left because they would miss work and be late and all that. I think we should make November 2nd a national holiday. If people want to go to work I'm sure they could but it should be a holiday because of things like what happened in 2000 and 2004.

I don't know why November 2nd isn't a national holiday.

3. I can guarantee you that the "parallel system"
will produce different results no matter what voting system is used in the primary elections.

The reason is that the sample that the "parallel elections" will hit is self-selecting and not representative of the general voting population. For example, it is certain that R rate of participation will be much smaller than the D rate.

4. Did you access the links?
I'd love to have your feedback after you've read some of the reasoning behind this project.

It doesn't matter whether everyone participates.

7. I accessed the links -
and the only way I see that "parallel voting" can possibly show that there is something wrong is if the "parallel" vote shows X Democratic votes while "primary" vote shows Y Democratic votes, and X>Y. In all other cases, you can easily dismiss the parallel voting results as skewed because of the self-selection of the sample.

Here is an example: in the precinct the official result is D=200, R=300. The "parallel vote" result is: D=120, R=80. Does that show that there was fraud and D actually won, or does it show that R voters consistently ignored the "parallel vote" booth because they knew it was a D initiative?
