There are Kerry voting Republicans right here who also don't deserve the term "repigs." There's a few good ones.

62. This debate is crap.
This debate seems like a waste of time. Most people only see about 10 seconds of it, which of course is selected by the pro-Bush media. Gonzo's dumb ass should have to go through more questioning. I don't care if he does dodge the questions, at least it would be clear to more people that he is.

Just listening to the content of this debate makes it clear how pathetic our government is becoming. It sounds like a debate that would take place in Saddam's Iraq! And just like the likely outcome if under Saddam, Gonzo will be confirmed! This is insanity!

Come to think of it, the U.S. IS the old Iraq. Bush IS Saddam. We torture people, we have fraudulent elections, we illegally invade countries, our President says things that are not consistent with reality, logic or reason, etc, etc, etc

We need someone to invade us.

broke, Rumsfeld said on camera, "Oh, this is a tactic of terrorists. There wilL ALWAYS be complaints."

I remember every single word verbatim -- because it was so shocking.

And none of those poor people at Abu Graib WERE terrorists. They were just rounded up like cattle.

68. It was also great that he threw that "partisanship" argument right back
at them, quite rightly so. If ANYONE is being partisan in supporting these nominations, THEY are. So typical, they always accuse others of doing what THEY are guilty of.

I say, let's do what Dayton did, and start accusing them. Let's call them partisan BEFORE they can call US that.

38. So it's fine for us to torture people but if they torture us
we scream bloody murder. Oh, that's right, American lives are worth MORE ...

If they wanted to go ahead and torture the terrorists, why did they declare a frigging WAR? War comes with rules, remember. They should have left this as a "law enforcement action" like Clinton did -- Special Ops guys aren't governed by the Geneva Conventions.

Had we done so, nearly the entire world would have given us strong, tangible support.

We wouldn't have even had to use the word "war."

I'm so frustrated by all of this because I've ALWAYS felt this could have been handled more effectively without calling it "war." It was an obvious ploy on the Repugs' part to up the fear ante at home.

The oil field job.

We're being manipulated by energy and oil. This has NOTHING to do with National Security. In fact, National Security is now code for "what the multinationals need, they get."

They made fun of us when we called it. They made fun of us when we said Iraq had no WMD. This list gets really long.

Let's review: A liar is our chief diplomat. A liar is about to be our AG. A liar is about to be head of Homeland Sekurity.

Hmmm. Time to disagree,no?
