Has the Chimperor Done Away With the State of the Union Address?
Has anyone heard/read anything about it?

Have we done away with it? When will it be?

22. Wed. Feb 2nd. Ground Hog day
When Bush will come out of his white house oval office and see his shadow,....and six weeks of winter is left...no no that's not right.

It will be a Spew alert to all sane thinking people of the world, I am sure. Saying buzz words, liberty, free elections, democracy. and alot of back patting, for those that help to advance "the march of Freedom". "Uniter not a divider". blah blah blah.

23. Thanks, (gag)
for the warning! I will be sure to be far from the teevee at that time. If some of you with stronger stomachs wish to watch, keep us posted. I'm sure it will be good for some laughs, if you don't have to actually LISTEN to it.

he hasn't done away with it.. He couldn't - it's a constitutional requirement. However, there's no requirement that it be done yearly or that it be delivered in person.

This year's will occur on Feb. 2nd.

12. I don't recall if it was Madison or someone else...
sent their state of union to Congress. Madison probably did some or all cause he didn't feel comfortable talking before a group.

16. A lot of presidents didn't deliver it in person
Washington began the tradition of delivering it in person. Then, Jefferson, who felt it was too monarchical, started delivering it in writing in 1801. Presidents didn't deliver it live again until Woodrow Wilson re-started the tradition in 1913.

Although since King Dubya is such a man of the people, he must be doing it in person... All those folks who think he is such a charismatic guy would be let down...

20. and half of America will take him at his word

They are programmed into believing him rather than their own "lying" eyes. They don't believe what ABC, CBS, etc. show them on TV--unless it is FOX. Or if Rush Limburger says it.

...after all Freedom (and now Liberty) is on the march! :eyes:

21. Superbowl will provide a welcome distraction for the Media--
They won't have to focus tooooooo long on the issues before we can really get down to discussing what's wrong with America--

Breasts.

has to say to further his agenda and how it's possibly going to affect us. I find it very difficult to watch him because I distrust him so intensely, for starters, but will give it a go.
