Is there a Condi, Laura, and * triangle?
This quote from Maureen Dowd's latest New York Times column...

"Doesn't (Condi) know that the Pentagon has more sides than her Crawford triangle with George and Laura?"

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/20/opinion/20dowd.html?incamp=article_popular_3

Put that together with the comment the about-to-become Secretary of State made at a Washington dinner party with New York Times Publisher Arthur Ochs Sulzberger.

"As I was telling my husb . . . " Then she paused abruptly and said, "As I was telling President Bush."

She accidentally killed an old boyfriend, from what I heard.

14. If there's any basis to Astrology, Laura's a SCORPIO!
Never mess with a Scorpio! Scorpios, as the story goes, have an obsession with all things 'dark'...including death. Quite frankly every time she smiles, I swear I hear a snake rattle.

39. Whoa. From astrology-online.com
"Even when Scorpios appear self-controlled and calm there is a seething intensity of emotional energy under the placid exterior. They are like the volcano not far under the surface of a calm sea, it may burst into eruption at any moment."

16. A Threesome would NOT be entirely unimaginable for a Scorpio.
Did anyone read the '1984'-ish book, "Handmaid's Tale?" (about a future government and media owned by the Religious Right...where the wealthier and more powerful women no longer bear children, but hire 'Handmaids' who mate with their husbands...while they, the Wealthy Religious Right Wives dutifully look on, and "hold their hands" throughout the deed). Interesting book and image.

But back to the article...

This, in combination with the piece they did about Lula being a drunk, makes me think the New York Times is trying to rival the National Enquirer in tawdriness. They evidently miss the ribald of the Clinton era.

20. that article on Lula created an international incident
He was furious and threated to expel the Times reporter from Brazil. He was even going to invoke an old law form the Dictatorship to do it. I could see why he was angry. The article was a gossip piece, not real journalism and not something you would expect from the NYT. After a week or so, Lula calmed down, met with the Times reporter, and they had some sort of talk that resulted in the journalist being able to stay in Brazil. All this because the Times thought they'd be the NYPost one day.

it's just too much togetherness for merely an employee and boss. My question though-where the hell is Laura when they are canoodling on the ranch? Is she turning a blind eye to it? If it were me, and my hubby was spending that much time with anyone-having them over for the weekend and going for walks.. I wouldn't like it one iota and for sure there would be hell to pay! Something is definately amiss here, no doubt about it.

I can where if a person was married (or had been married) that a slip like that could happen when they are around someone 24/7.

But a woman that has never been married referring to her boss the chimperor as *my husband*

That is a hell of a freudian slip IMO

70. I hate when people do this.
Now every time I see any of them, all I can visualize is . . . well, you know. And it ain't a pretty sight.:smoke:

75. Has anybody seen Laura and Condi together ....ever?
I am convinced Laura is a master at disguise, and takes
on the Condi avatar so the Bushes can exercise more control
over the country.

72. To quote Senator Byrd...
"I cannot support higher responsibilities for those who helped set our great nation down the path of increasing isolation, enmity in the world and a war that has no end."

Gotta wonder, is this why she's being given "higher responsibilities"?

78. AH HA! Thank you for posting this!
After the Tsunami *conspiracy* posting fiasco I didn't even want to touch this topic...

I think there indeed is a Condi/ bush thing happening.

Apparently herr stupid doesn't go anywhere without his pal Condi
(she goes to Camp David with them)

In addition it was Condi's old political connections that set bush up to run as Gov of Texas (I just heard that somewhere but I cannot recall the name of the politician that she was working for)

80. After the way Clinton was Tripped up...
...why are Dems are so discreet about an affair which may have generated a war, not just dry-cleaning Bill?

Any idea who the Texas connection was?

81. I wish I could remember
I caught the tail end of the comment while I was on the phone and I am not even sure what show it was on.

I believe they said Rice worked for or assisted some Republican party official, or a politician (GOP) and that she introduced him to bush Jr as a possible candidate for Texas Gov.

I should google around and see if I can find out who it was and what the actual story was... I was surprised because I had never heard it before.
