My critique of the DCCC at the Stakeholder blog
I just posted this at the DCCC site where they posted Ed Rollins recent quote about the GOPs power grab is unsustainable.

As I'm sure many of you will agree, our spinelessness will make our party unsustainable.

As long as we Democrats continue to lurch from election to election on the fantasy that winning the majority is within our grasp because these GOP "hardasses" are just too extreme, we'll never win.

For instance, when many of us "ordinary people" wrote you guys "our reps" and demanded evidence of the need for war with Iraq, proof of WMD, not to give the president blank check authority in Iraq, we got marginalized and mostly ignored. Even as millions of us took to the streets, there was still this "need" to side with Bush.
And look at the price.
Let's stick to our moral values of helping lift people out of poverty, making health care accessable and affordable, rejecting the xeophobic reactionary and vengeful impulses to war.
Let's be a party that stands on its principles, especially when there is the "fear of electoral loss". Because, maybe that vote you were afraid to cast in actuality will show millions we aren't afraid or "confused" about our principles. We have very good reasons for taking the positions we take.
Then, I won't have to read assinine quotes from Ed Rollins that the GOPs power grab is unsustainable. Yeah, thanks for that hot air blown up my ass, oooo, really felt good. I'm floating on cloud nine.
On second thought, my values and my party are in the minority and a bunch of right wing zealots are running the government but if I wish hard enough 2006 will be the year.
Not until you guys, our reps, cast some difficult votes and act as a true opposition party with fresh ideas and a deserving alternative to the current ruling majority.
