Any thought from the DU on Bush's selection of Michael Chertoff
for Homeland Insecurity?

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-01110...

From the article above:

"Schumer, who has frequently challenged Bush nominees, said Chertoff "has the resume to be an excellent Homeland Security secretary, given his law enforcement background and understanding of New York's and America's neglected homeland security needs.""

4. He's also the guy
that got tangled up in that comedic farce with Moussaoui. Tried to deny him the opportunity to depose another terrorist suspect for reasons of "national security."

2. cross schumer off the list as a democrat
anyone who thinks this thug will make a excellent choice should be the first one to be thrown in the gulag. chertoff and gonzo are the last two pieces in the death of our freedom. bush and his minions now have complete control over the life and death of any citizen in the united states without the nicety of open and fair trial.
we have become the Fourth Reich.

5. I totally agree
Every time I think he cannot possibly find a worse candidate for a job, he does it. I fear for all of us.

7. The Enemy CNN Described Him As A
"Loyal Republican, Neoconservative, Intellectual". I guess I like the last part.

I'd be lying if I said I was familiar with this guy's background. All I know is that Bush likes him enough to nominate him and that tells me he's a douchebag of the highest order.

8. He'll probably
sail right through. He's made it through 3 Senate confirmations for other jobs. It was almost unanimous, except for Hilary! You know.. the Whitewater stuff.
