1. Gifford Miller, the council speaker, and Anthony Wiener, the Rep
who took over Schumer's seat. Of those two, I'd support Wiener. C. Virginia Fields, the Manhattan Borough President, may run, too. I like her, but I'd hate to see a repeat of 1997, when Rudy creamed Ruth Messinger.

4. weiner is a member of the judicial committee
and he signed the letter to GOA on election fraud. took heat from the NY Post for it. he has my support no matter what. i had no idea who he was until i read about it in the post. i wrote him a thank you for being a good person type letter and doing the right thing.

so he obviously has a some kind of backbone and cares about voters. two points just for that. more then most of the politicians out there including schumer who has lost all my respect.

3. Are the Democrats going to tear each other up in the primary again?
New York Democrats have a way of doing that since the days of Martin van Buren and the Albany Regency in the 1830's.

5. bluestateguy lol! true! It's what cost Mark Green last time
He and Fernando Ferrer really got into last time, alot bad feelings. I still like Mark Green And Ferrer, either would suit me. I really love Charlie Rangel, but I'm sure he wont run. There is a very young Nassau County Executive, Thomas Suozzi , and there has been talk of him running for either governor or mayor. Very accomplished, very articulate and very good looking, beautiful family too. But I doubt that, he is the first Democratic candidate to win the County Executive Post in Nassau County in almost 50 years. A very impressive feat. He was not a party "favorite" either. Only Mario Cuomo backed him. But I think he will stay put, someone has to clean up the mess the republicans made of Nassau County. Either way, NY politics are never dull & I'm looking forward to it.

6. i think Mark Green would have made it but because of 9/11
and Rudy's popularity as a result of it his endorsement of Bloomberg helped a lot.

if there was no 9/11 or even if Rudy had not endorsed him i think Mark Green would have pulled it off.

7. JI7 very possible, no one can say for sure
but there were very bad feeling between Green & Ferrer, and it hurt the party. I agree Rudy's endorsement helped alot. Alot of people I know voted for bloomberg because they felt "he really was a dem who just changed parties for the election" and that being a billionaire, he had the know how to restore NY economically. This is going to be a very interesting race.

8. true
i'm sure the fact that many felt bloomberg changed parties just for the election and was still a democrat and liberal at heart made many of those upset with Green after the dirty primary feel more comfortable with voting for Bloomberg.

9. Indeed. He is not even going to attend the inauguration
at least that was the news when we were there - just to distance himself from Bush.

Apparently some of the candidates do hold him being a Republican, who even brought them for their convention, against him
