CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - Election Reform Group
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 11:55 AM by arnheim
(We're still looking for a name. LOL.)

Several DUers have been working on getting a list of action items together in order to keep our wonderful momentum going. Here is our mission statement:

"The mission of the Election Reform Group is to solicit solid action items and then work at those items in an organized manner to promote election reform to our elected officials, media and every American who votes."

I am now calling on volunteers to be either

a.) a point person for the action category
b.) a volunteer for a particular task.

For example, if you want to be a point person for "branding" our movement with a logo, font colors, etc., you could sign up for that category of work. You would then work with others to get all of the tasks that are needed to brand our movement completed. As we all know there is a lot of work that has to be done to get a movement started.

If you would like to volunteer for this great effort, please send me your email and what you want to volunteer for by:

The taste of Republican butt does not improve with age.

"The NeoCons can't be bargained with. They can't be reasoned with. They do not feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And they absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

6. Read it. I hear you loud and clear.
That is why I am trying to get us organized. We can't have a million threads everywhere diluting the effort. We need to be focused like laser beams towards one common goal.

With that said, it is like the analogy that I used in a previous post. We will NEVER win the war by positioning our troops all in one spot. We need concentrated effort in different areas by groups of our troops.

We all have to be fighting for the same thing, though. :) I choose to work on election reform BUT

BUT

if we set up a model for communication and activism for one thing, we can use that successful model for other areas as well.

11. It's not so much computer skill but grit and determination
As we get going, we will need all types of skills. As long as you are willing, we will take whatever you can offer. If you are good at calling people, then you can sign up for that. If you like to organize, you can do that. If you like to email people, you can sign up for that.

No task is too small and no effort is too small either.

Welcome to DU! We are glad to have you here. :hi:
